Pro Alpha 2000

The Brano “pro-alpha 2000” is a garage door operator for domestic garage doors. The “pro-alpha 2000” garage door operator have been in production since 1998 and to date more than 110 000 machines have entered the market place.

The unique feature of the Brano “pro-alpha 2000” is the overload sensitivity mechanism. This is achieved by our patented system of measuring the actual thrust (force) on the door-towing assembly, and is unaffected by variations in the supply voltage, which can be a shortcoming in operators which use an “amperage sensing” system. This system is also superior in performance to the “slipping clutch” design.

The Brano “pro-alpha 2000” was designed to comply fully with the standards for garage door operators as set out by the South African Bureau of Standards – SABS-IEC 60335-2-95. The machine also meets or exceeds all US Federal, State and UL safety Requirements.

  Technical Specifications

  • Strong, robust construction ensures long life expectancy.

  • Powerful 260 N lifting force

  • Patented safety “overload” sensing system responds to the direct forces acting on the door. It is unaffected by variations in the supply voltage and is more responsive that “slipping clutch” designs.

  • All installation hardware is supplied as standards equipment.

  • Powerful automatic courtesy light – (max. 100 Watt)

  • Quick access to PC Control board and courtesy light – (no special tools required).

  • Multi-function with PLC Logic Control.

  • “Power-surge” protection fitted as standard equipment.

  • Connection points are provided for “safety beams” or “pressure sensitive” edges.

  • 24 V DC Power supply outputs for radio controls.

  • PC Board is “short-circuit” protected.

  • “Power-on” indicator LED is visible through the lamp lens.

  • “One-piece” worm shaft directly coupled to the electric motor. No clutches or belts to wear out – No chain to stretch – No separate gearbox.

  • A “One-piece” aluminium extrusion houses the worm-shaft.

  • The traveler is engageable anywhere along the worm-shaft. This is a very important feature in the event of system malfunction as it allows the door to be positively locked. This is not possible with “chain-drive” or “belt-drive” machines.

  • The “worm-shaft” securely locks the door in the closed position. No separate locks are required.

  • The “worm-shaft” is easily dismantled from the “power-head” for maintenance and shipping purposes.

  • The motor shaft coupling is made of shock absorbent material and is designed to act as a “fail-safe” component in the event the door strikes an obstruction. In order to prevent severe injury to persons or major damage to the motor and door, the coupling is designed to be sacrificed – a secondary “safety” feature. A replacement coupling is easily fitted.

  • 250 W (1/3 HP), single phase, fan cooled motor with thermal overload protection.

  • “Vacation-lock” puts the machine into “sleep” mode for extra security abd prevents unauthorised operation.

  • Courtesy light can be switches on and off without opening the door. Light switches off automatically after 3 minutes.
